It was a exciting and a great book to read.Hello! My name is Ada Seto. I am in 9 years old and in 4th grade.I read a book called Anastasia,I give it 4 stars. It was about a girl named Anya and she was Anastasia but she didn't know who she was. She didn't know where her family was either. I was wondering what happened next. I would love to read this book again because it was great!

Bartlett and the Ice Voyage

Average review score:

Charming! What a lovely book! I would recommend this to those who have enjoyed the Gail Carson Levine Princess Tales books, as well as anyone who like a story with a little adventure, a little humor, and a good ending. The author's descriptions of the luscious melidrop made me long for them to be real!

Diamond Princess Steps Through the Mirror
Published in Unknown Binding by Bt Bound (March, 1901)
Average review score:

excellent! This is actually the only one of the Jewel Kingdom books that I have not read (my daughter gets them first) but all of the others have been wonderful. The only reason that I am not giving it five stars as I would have two years ago is that the books are just a little easy now for my nine year old where they were perfect for 7. I personally really enjoy the high moral tone. The books teach good manners and good conduct with out ever preaching either. Having a child who reads these books is to have a more tractable, better behaved and happier child. A reminder to "act like a Princess" will help make difficult decisions easier.

Diary of the Boy King Tutankhamen
Published in School & Library Binding by Atheneum (December, 1978)
Average review score:

Egypt from a child's point of viewJune Reig imagines what if the diary of the young boy-king, King Tut, were found among the treasures in Howard Carter's find? This book is that fictional diary. It leads up to his death and ends with a letter from his bride to be included in his tomb.
If your child is interested in Egypt, this is a good book. There are Egyptian words, with English spelling, throughout and these are supported by a glossary in the back. Also, there are illustrations of some of the different items the young boy talks about.
Some of the words and names may slow your child down, but in all, the reading level is fairly easy. I would recommend this book.

The Gift: A Magical Story About Caring for the Earth
Published in Hardcover by Wisdom Publications (October, 1996)
Average review score:

The Recycling CycleI thought that this was a wonderful story about the cycles of recycling and how anyone can make something that seems useless to one person extremely useful to another. I think that it's important for children to learn to recycle, as we are quickly depleting our natural resources. The short, but sweet text and colorful pictures add to the enjoyment of this book! Enjoy!

Grandmama of Europe: The Crowned Descendants of Queen Victoria
Published in Paperback by HarperCollins (paper) (September, 1984)
Average review score:

An excellent overview of the lesser know branchesThis book has helped me on more than one occasion, to sort out Queen Victoria's huge family. The book only rates four stars, because I dislike the way it is organized. But the information, as well as the detailed lineage is wonderful. Many of Mr. Aronson's books are out of print, but I find them quite frequently at the Strand in NYC or other used bookstores.

How the Clown Won the Princess's Heart (History Starts Here)
Published in Paperback by Raintree/Steck-Vaughn (May, 1900)
Average review score:

The Legacy of John CycloneI really loved this children's book and so did my children. It is a tender tall tale by a talented young boy about a very large guy with a big heart who spends his time creating mountains and lakes and helping others. The illustrations are beautiful and compliment the story well. We all really loved this book and its message of kindness to others!

Ice Cream at the Castle
Published in Hardcover by Child's Play International, Ltd. (June, 1999)
Average review score:

A Royal TreatA king discovers that there is no money left in "the royalpurse" and panics to find a way to raise money for the royalpeople at the castle. Suggestions are given and it is finally decided that the castle will be opened to the public, with admission charged to those who enter. In order to draw people to the castle, ice cream, created by Dr. Potamus, is promised to each guest. The incompetent "royal chart-maker" creates a map to the castle and the ice cream is made for the anticipated guests. When the princes and princess of the castle find lines of people walking to their uncle's castle across town instead of their castle, they begin to worry. How were they going to get all those people to their castle before the ice cream melted? This book was entertaining and fun to read, as it provided plenty of dialogue between the unique characters. It was also neat to see how the children in the story were involved in making decisions for the castle. There was a great deal of sarcastic humor used in the story, which makes this story funny to older children as well as younger children. The colorful watercolor illustrations provided an action-packed visual image of the action that was taking place in the story.
